5 COOL JEWELRY LIFE HACKS (CLEANING & TARNISHING PREVENTION)
It is really nice to add new pieces of jewelry in your collection because the more pieces you have means the more looks you can create. Oh yes, I know your love for jewelry is never ending!
Regardless of how cheap or expensive your jewelry is, they all look shiny and sparkly when they’re new.
But sadly, beauty fades.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you can keep them looking good as new all the time?
Here are a few simple life hacks you can try to preserve the beauty of your beloved pieces of jewelry. No need to buy expensive cleaners. All you need are these few stuff you can easily find at home!
1. Clear Nail Polish
Apply a coat of clear nail polish on the piece of sterling silver jewelry you wish to save from tarnishing. Let it dry completely before you put it on.
Put a generous amount of ketchup in a bowl, dip your sterling silver accessory and leave it on for about 5 to10 minutes. Simply rinse it off with water.
3. Dish Washing Soap, Warm Water, and Toothbrush
Add a few drops of dishwashing liquid in a bowl of hot water. Soak your gold plated jewelry for about 20 to 40 minutes depending on how much dirt there is. Use a clean toothbrush to brush off any stubborn dirt. Rinse and dry.
4. Vinegar and Baking Soda
Take half a cup of white vinegar and mix it with two tablespoons of baking soda. Place your silver jewelry in the solution and leave it there for 2 to 3 hours. Rinse and dry.
Just pour a small amount of beer on a piece of cloth and rub it gently on your solid gold ring.
Pro tip: Do not clean the diamond with beer, and avoid dark ale beer at all costs.
